Condolences From:
The Greek Catholic Eparchy of Mukachevo

SLAVA ISUSU CHRISTU!

"O Christ, give rest to the soul of your servants, where there is no pain, sorrow or mourning, but lifeeverlasting."

With great sorrow we received the message of MetropolitanNicholas' passing and submit ourheartfelt sympathy to brothers and family members as well as to all the clergy and faithful of the American Carpatho-Russian Church. We remember Metropolitan Nicholas as an eminent and dedicated personality, who was driven by the sincere desire to search for the unity of the Christ's Church. His family's roots reach to Transcarpatia, to the village of Kalnik, near Mukacevo. We could alwaysfeel these bonds and Metropolitan Nicholas'deep love to our country and people.

The deceased Metropolitan Nicholas visited our Eparchy in June (25-28) 2006 on theoccasion of the conference dedicated to the 100-year Anniversary of the Bokshay's Prostopinie. I also had the honour and pleasure to meet Him in the United States in December 2006 and I appreciate his wholehearted desire and efforts to ChurchUnity. Our last meeting was in June 2010 at the funeral of our Byzantine-Catholic Church's Metropolitan Basil Shott. It became an annual tradition that we would receive a small package from Metropolitan Nicholas. The last one came in autumn 2010. I was always deeply grateful for this little sign of affection.

Please accept my sincere condolence and may his soul rest in peace.Vi?naja pamjat'!

United in prayers for our recently passed away brother Nicholas,

Truly in the Lord,
