SPIRITUAL READING

The Holy Fathers On The Feast of The Ascension

Wednesday, May 27, 2020

Brethren and fathers, a feast of feasts, the Assumption of our Saviour Jesus Christ, is at our doors, and a great and supernatural mystery; for our nature is being taken up beyond heaven, as it written: By grace you have been saved; and he has raised us up together and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, [Ephesians 2,5-6] who is at the right hand of God, [Romans 8,34] far above every principality and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but in that which to come. And he has put all things under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the Church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all. [Ephesians 1,22-23] -St Ephrem - Catechesis 7

Do you see then to what height of glory human nature has been raised? Is it not from earth to heaven? Is it not from corruption to incorruption? How hard would not someone toil in order to become the intimate friend of a corruptible king here below? Read more...

SPF50 MINISTRY
Praying together and reading Scripture together are pillars of a Christ- centered Orthodox Christian family. While families may desire to have these activities in their home, they may not be sure how to start. SPF50 intends to help our families bridge that gap. SPF stands for “Scripture, Prayer, Family” and is designed to equip families to read the Scriptures and pray together at home.

This will be an ongoing parish-centered program to help families have quality time with our Lord and with one another, both of which are hard to come by.

SPF50 will start at the beginning of Great Lent 2020 with the Gospel of Mark.
Copies of SPF50’s first publication are available in each parish and on the SPF50 Web Page

NEW!!! - SPF50's second publication

Weekly Message

Here is this week's offering from SPF50.  A brief message to encourage us in our life of faith at home with our families.  Each week SPF50 will bring us a new audio or video recording to help us.  This week's offering is for those reading The Gospel of Mark Chapters 5 and 6.
