JOHNSTOWN, PA [Diocesan Chancery] - His Grace, Bishop Gregory of Nyssa, upon learning of the horrific tragedy at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT, where 26 people, most of whom were children, lost their lives during a mass shooting, has called upon the faithful of the Diocese to offer up fervent prayers for the many families and people affected by this catastrophe and the repose of the souls of the innocent victims. Baltimore, MD (IOCC) — His Grace, Bishop Gregory, Very Rev. Protopresbyter Michael Rosco and Very Rev. Fr. Miles Zdinak along with more than 80 representatives of the nation's Orthodox Christian service organizations joined together at the White House today to discuss strategic service alliances with the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. INDIANA, PA [OCF] Father Matthew Conjelko, the Spiritual Advisor of the IUP Orthodox Christian Fellowship, visited IUP’s campus to offer dorm/apartment blessings for participating OCF members. As a graduating senior, I greatly appreciated this treat. The students learned about the reasons we have our homes blessed. I was also so very happy to receive and learn about an icon Father had brought for each student, as a reminder of the apartment blessings that occurred. Read more...
