PASSAIC, N.J. (CNS) -- Retired Bishop Andrew Pataki of the Byzantine Diocese of Passaic died Dec. 8 after an automobile accident in New Jersey. He was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, about 60 miles from Passaic, where he died from his injuries. Bishop Pataki was 84.

JOHNSTOWN, PA -- As previously announced, a weekly on-line Scripture Study Class on the Gospel of St. Matthew will begin on Saturday November 5, 2011. The class, led by Very Rev. Protopresbyter Kenneth Bachofsky, D. Min, Professor of Sacred Scripture at Christ the Saviour Seminary, will be broadcast live every Saturday from St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Warren, Ohio. NEW YORK, NY - On Sunday October 16, 2011, Steven Lukac, Parish Council President of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Parish in Sharon, PA was conferred the privilege of being an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, by His Eminence, Archbishop Demetrios of America at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.
