Camp Nazareth Cabin Expansion Project Days 42-45 (12/15/15)

The Camp Nazareth Cabins are undergoing a major upgrade with this expansion. New bathrooms, showers, a large common room, covered front porches, and climate control (hvac) are just some of the planned upgrades.

The project is scheduled to be completed by March 1, 2016.

Photos show scenes from days 42-45 of construction: Dec. 9 - Dec. 14, 2015.

12/9: Cabins 1 & 2 continue to have their framing done.
12/9: This pic was taken as much for the sky as anything else.
12/9: Who says you can't be happy in your work? Rick is an excellent digger, but not good enough to find any gold yet.
12/9: "Trench Warfare" -- bringing the water from the back of the Bathhouse all the way to Cabins A & B...and maybe points beyond.
12/9: It's a big water pipe (4") but necessary for what we need to supply.
12/9: They just kept digging and digging...
12/9: Each step of the way the pipe has to be pressed into the previous section using a spud bar. Can't have leaks!
12/9: Only the cabins will be "fed" from this water line.
12/10: The weather has been cooperative although certain days have been iffy. This was a beautiful "white" sun one day at the top of Pew Road.
12/10: Each cabin has multiple piles of lumber designated for it.
12/10: It's about 385 feet from the back of the Bathhouse to Cabins A & B...lots of pipe required.
12/10: The first wall of Cabins A & B went up without a problem, but the second wall...
12/10: ...just kidding...the second and third exterior walls went up just fine.
12/11: This will be the view from the picture window of cabins A & B...minus the digger of course. Notice that A & B will have a very beautiful view of the Camp especially of the Camp Church!!
12/11: This was the pressure test for the water line to see if their were leaks. The pressure held just fine...No Leaks!!
12/11: Given the distance and the amount of water, you need a "kicker" down by the bathhouse to prevent the water pipe from moving because of pressure.
12/11: Everything is upside down and sideways at Camp right now...These were the stairs from the Bathhouse down to Cabin 6, but not anymore.
12/11: You are looking at the future front porch for Cabins 7 & 8.
12/11: Lots and lots of pea gravel for the trenches that hold the water lines.
12/11: Beginning the framing for the two single cabins. Here Cabin 3 is getting the attention it deserves.
12/14: What was once an open trench more than 4' deep for the water line is now being filled in. It's the ultimate Tonka experience...just keep digging holes just to fill them back in again.
12/14: Cabins 7 &8 in the sun and having their water line connected to the main water line. One camper asked if we were burying hoola-hoops in the ground.
12/14: The connection up at cabins A & B...Bringing the water all the way to the "castle" on the hill.
12/14: We thought you'd like to see this. This was at the top of Pew Road just above the Camp. With every step...have faith!
12/14: There are always amazing views of the sky around the Camp. Here's the point: If our good Lord can do something like this, then helping us build a few cabins isn't much of a challenge for Him. Thanks be to God for all things!!
