JOHNSTOWN, PA [Diocesan Chancery] - His Eminence, Metropolitan Gregory, as Secretary of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the USA, took part in a meeting of the Executive Committee on Wednesday September 18, 2019 at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America in New York Cit. The hierarchs met under the chairmanship of Archbishop Elpidophoros, to discuss the state of Orthodox Christian unity in the USA. Our Diocese is pleased to announce its second and third Parenting Workshops in its Series of Parenting Workshops entitled “Raising Believing Children”.  The next Workshop will be hosted by our church of St. Michael’s in Niles, IL on Saturday, September 7th and the third Workshop will be hosted by our church of St. John’s on Mill Hill Avenue in Bridgeport, CT on Saturday, September 21st.  The fourth in the Series will be hosted by our Holy Ghost Church in Phoenixville, PA on Saturday, October 19th.  The Workshops are designed to help parents learn more about the “craft” of parenting and help them raise their children in the Faith.  The Workshops focus on the ways parents can help their children stay faithful to Christ and His Church in a world that is filled with doubt and most often works against their Faith.  The Workshops are for parents of any age – you’re never too old to be a son or daughter, and likewise you’re never too old to be a parent!  I Read more...
