Michael has served the Lord and our Diocese honorably and faithfully for the more than 40 years of his worthy priesthood, most recently serving as Vice-Chancellor of the Diocese, member of the Diocesan Consistory, Dean of the New York, New Jersey and Washington, DC Deaneries, Editor of The Church Messenger, Chairman of the Diocesan Liturgical Music and Mission Commissions, and Pastor to the faithful of St. John The Baptist Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy, NJ.

JOHNSTOWN, PA - [Diocesan Chancery] -- With profound sadness the Diocesan Chancery announces that + Rev. Fr. John Cmur , age 90,  reposed in the Lord peacefully on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. 

Fr. John was born and raised in Dunmore, PA. He married his wife, Mary, in 1954 and moved to Brick, NJ to raise their family. He retired to Whiting in the early ‘90’s.

Fr. John worked for many years as a plant manager for Orgo-Thermit, Inc. metal manufacturing in Manchester Township and was a member of the local Rotary Club

JOHNSTOWN, PA - [Diocesan Chancery] -- With profound sadness the Diocesan Chancery announces that + Very Rev. Protopresbyter Theodore Mozes, reposed in the Lord on March 9, 2026 at the age of 87. 

He was born on April 8, 1938, in Pennsylvania to his late parents Zolton and Ann Mozes. Father Theodore was raised in Duquesne, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Clairton High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving three years of active duty and three years in the reserves. During his military service he received two letters of commendation in recognition of his dedication and exemplary service.
