Jr. ACRY Launches Annual Lenten Mission Project & Camp Nazareth Essay Contest

JOHNSTOWN, PA -- [Diocesan Chancery] The National Jr. ACRY invites all Jr. ACRY chapters and the faithful of the American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese to participate in the annual Lenten Mission Project. This year, we are raising funds to support the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, which provides life-saving and life-changing care for individuals with spinal cord injuries.

All chapters and individuals are encouraged to plan a fundraiser or hold a special collection in their parishes to support this worthy cause. Donations must be submitted by May 16, 2025. The National Jr. A.C.R.Y. invites you to act as the hands and feet of Christ this Lent by visiting the sick and helping those in need.

In addition, we are pleased to announce the annual Jr. ACRY "Win a Free Week at Camp Nazareth" Essay Contest. Jr. ACRY members can win a free week at Camp Nazareth, while non-members are eligible for a 50 percent scholarship toward camp tuition.

To enter, submit a 250-300 word essay on:

  • What you love about Camp Nazareth or
  • What you are looking forward to experiencing at camp

Essays must be submitted by May 16, 2025, to National Jr. ACRY Advisor Sara Lavra at sracry.jradvisor@gmail.com. Winners will be announced in early summer.

We encourage all youth to take part in this opportunity and look forward to a fruitful Lenten season, a joyous Pascha, and another incredible summer at Camp Nazareth.
