JOHNSTOWN, PA -    With great sorrow, the Diocesan Chancery announces the falling asleep in the Lord of Very Rev. Fr.  Charles Sunderland, on Sunday, October 22. 

Father Charles. formerly an Episcopal Priest, served our Diocese for many years, after embracing Orthodoxy in 1975. He served several parishes in Indiana until founding our Diocesan St. Alexis Parish in Lafayette, Indiana. He served there until he retired in 2001 when he moved to Grand Junction, Colorado.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, October 26th at 11AM in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Grand Junction. Burial will follow in St. Alexis Church crypt, Lafayette, Indiana.

May our good God grant blessed repose and rest eternal to His faithful servant, the newly-departed servant, The Priest Charles and render eternal his memory, Vicnaja Jemu Pamjat!,
