Register Now For 2016 Diocesan Lenten Retreats!

JOHNSTOWN, PA - The Diocesan Chancery is pleased to announce the schedule of the annual Diocesan Lenten Retreats, which are sponsored by the ACRY for the upcoming Lenten Season. These retreats are open to everyone and contain special programing for youth and adults of all ages. Bishop Gregory, along with other talented clergy of the Diocese, will offer insightful and inspiring presentations designed to encourage and challenge the faithful to stay focused on the spiritual life as they continue their Lenten Journey to Pascha.

Central Region:  Saturday April 9, 2016 at  St. Nicholas Church, Homestead, PA from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. The Adult Retreat Master, Bishop Gregory, will speak on the topic Faith vs Science  and Fr. David Urban, the  youth presenter, will lead an interactive discussion on the topic  My Orthodox Faith: Learning, Loving & LivingRegistration is required and must be made by April 2, 2016.  Cathy Pawlik is in charge of registration.  Download Registration Form.  (PDF Format)
     
Eastern Region:  Saturday April 16, 2016 at  The Conference Center at Valley Forge, Phoenixville, PA  from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm (EST).  Fr. Michael Chendorain will lead the adults in a discussion of the topic: The Synergy of Faith and Works for Living and Sharing Our Orthodox Faith.  Fr. William Bennett,  the Teen Presenter will discuss the topic  The Spiritual Life: Prayer in Action.  Fr. William George will serve as retreatmaster for children ages 6-11 and will speak on the topic: We Are The Church: How Am I A Part Of God's Family?   Registration is required and must be made by April 2, 2016.  Mrs. Tracey Bilanin is in charge of registration.  Download Registration Form (PDF Format).


Western Region:  Saturday April 16, 2016 at Christ The Savior Orthodox Church, Rockford, IL at 1:00 pm (CST).

The Deanery Mission and Retreat Theme is "For the Life of the World."  - John 6:51

The day's events will include:

    • Akathist of Thanksgiving Glory to God for All Things
    •  Time For Confession
    • Transformation to Transfiguration - Parish Outreach and Faith in College Life - Homily & Discussion led by Gregory Allard**
    • Lenten Meal
    • For the Life of the World - Keynote address by  Laura Paulus

Laura Paulus  is the Housemother of the Martha and Mary Maternity House  located in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago will give a presentation for the adults about the importance of being a role model in helping young mothers choose life and the services the house provides and care that goes into helping those in need. http://www.marthamarychicago.org
