2023 Lenten Retreat Schedule Released

JOHNSTOWN, PA  [Diocesan Chancery] -- His Eminence Metropolitan Gregory is pleased to announce that, once again, this year,  we will be offering in-person regional Lenten Retreats.  Download Promotional Flier Here. (PDF Format)

This year there are additional youth and young adult retreats being offered in partnership with the Jr. ACRY, and other Orthodox Dioceses. The dates and details for the upcoming Lenten Retreats are as follows:

 

Diocesan Retreats:

Junior Youth Encounter - Friday March 10-Sunday March 12, 2023 - Camp Nazareth in Mercer, PA.  Theme: Overcoming Anxiety through Humility.  Cost is $105.00 per person. Financial assistance is available to help our youth who would otherwise be unable to attend by contacting Paul Zdinak, Sr. ACRY President, at paulzdinak@gmail.com

Central Lenten Regional Retreat - Sat April 1, 2023  - St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Homestead, PA.   Adult Retreat Master is Fr. David Mastroberte who will be addressing the topic Rejoice, Unwedded Bride to The Mother of Sorrows: A Marian Journey Through Lent and Holy Week.  Fr. David Urban will be leading an interactive, hands-on workshop on the theme Prophoran: The Bread of Life for the youth in attendance.  Deadline for Registration is March 25, 2023.

Eastern Regional Lenten Retreat (co-sponsored by the Ukrainian Orthodox Youth League) - Sat April 1, 2023 - Basilian Spirituality Center, Jenkintown, PA - Adult Retreat Master is Fr. Anthony Perkins.  Theme: Be Still and Know That I Am God.  Registration Deadline: March 25, 2023 -

Western Region Retreat - Sat April 1, 2023 - Christ the Saviour Church,  Rockford, IL.  Dr. Sophie Azmy, PsyD, HSPP, MBA will lead an interactive presentation exploring navigating life in the distracted times we live and how to move towards becoming more aware of God’s presence in both trials and joys.
Kids activity will be offered during the presentation.  Families and children of all ages are encouraged to attend. Community meal to follow the presentation.  Great Vespers and Confessions will be offered.  Those planning on attending are kindly asked to RSVP by March 25, 2023 to the following email with how many people are attending: ChristSaviourOrthodox@gmail.com.  ( It is preferred that parishes send one email listing the number attending from their parish rather than each attendee sending a separate email)

The annual  regional Diocesan Lenten Retreats are coordinated by the National ACRY and are open to all Diocesan family members and friends.  Please plan on attending and register now as spaces are limited


Inter-Orthodox Retreat

2023 Young Adult Spring Retreat  March 17-19, 2023 at Camp Nazareth, Mercer, PA   Keynote Speaker: Fr. Radu Bordeianu 

The American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese, the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Pittsburgh Y2AM and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church USA invite Young Adults to come retreat at Camp Nazareth for a weekend with other Orthodox Young Adults from all jurisdictions.

The weekend event will be filled with learning, fun, fellowship and worship and time for reflection and rejuvenation!
