Sunday of Orthodoxy In Perth Amboy (3/24/24)

On Sunday, March 24th, the Sunday of Orthodoxy, His Eminence Metropolitan Gregory made an Archpastoral Visit to St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.

During the Hierarchical Liturgy, His Eminence awarded the host pastor, Very Rev. Fr. Michael Chendorain, the Epigonation to wear as a symbol of the Offikion (Title) of Economos.

Later in the afternoon, Metropolitan Gregory presided over the Sunday of Orthodoxy Pan-Orthodox Vespers at St. John The Baptist Church and offered a stirring homily.
On Sunday, March 24, 2024, His Eminence celebrated the Divine Liturgy at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy, NJ. His Eminence is shown receiving the Eucharist.

At the conclusion of Liturgy, Metropolitan Gregory conducted a small prayer service bestowing the Title (Offikion) of Economos upon Fr. Michael.

Sunday of Orthodoxy Vespers were celebrated on Sunday, March 24 2024 at St. John the Baptist Church in Perth Amboy, NJ. His Eminence Metropolitan Gregory presided for the service and delivered the stirring homily.
The faithful in attendance listened to the words of His Eminence during the homily to start their Lenten journey with earnest if they have not already done so. "Tomorrow is not promised," he admonished them, "do not delay so that if the Lord comes, you are ready."
