Statement By His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew On The Present Violence In Iraq

Tuesday, August 12, 2014

The recent wave of violence against innocent families and children in Iraq has rendered the world shocked and horrified. We will not remain indifferent or silent before such irrational persecution, cultural intolerance and appalling loss of life, especially when it is caused by religious hatred and racial hostility. The targeting of tens of thousands of Christians (including Arameans, Chaldeans, and Assyrians) and other religious minorities (including Turkmens, Yazidis, and Kurds) can never be justified in the name of any religious creed or conviction. What we are witnessing before our eyes in Iraq Read more...

A Reflection On Appalachian Service Project 2014 - By Alexis Klimaszewski

Thursday, August 14, 2014

When I first decided to do ASP, I have to admit I was a little skeptical. This was my first time on this trip, and my first time away from home. I’m just a fourteen year old girl. STEWARDSHIP

On Stewardship and the Orthodox Life - Part 5: St. Paul on Selfishness

Saturday, August 16, 2014

“I say this not as a command, but to prove by the earnestness of others that your love also is genuine. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich.” (2 Corinthians 8:8-9 RSV) One quality of life that St. Paul worked hard to uproot was that of selfishness.
