With the deadline for ads, patrons and boosters, plus meal package selections and other information fast approaching - materials should be postmarked by Monday July 28 - chapters are encouraged to return their information as soon as possible. JOHNSTOWN, PA -- [Diocesan Chancery] - For the first time in the history of the Summer Camping Sessions at Camp Nazareth, our Diocesan youth will be blessed to witness the ordination of two young men tomorrow, July 18, 2014 at the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at Sts Cyril and Methodios Church. During the Liturgy, Seminary Graduate Matthew Dutko, of St. Michael's Church in Binghamton, NY will be ordained to the orders of Reader, Sub-deacon and Deacon and Deacon Joseph Birthisel, of Christ the Saviour Cathedral in Johnstown will be ordained to the Holy Priesthood. NATIONAL ACRY -- The Phoenixville, PA ACRY Chapter is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2014 ACRY Convention/Get-Away-Weekend which will take place on Labor Day Weekend, August 29-September 2014 in King of Prussia, PA. The chapter has been working hard to provide a great Convention this year. ACRY members and all members of the Diocese are welcome to take part. The City of Philadelphia, with its many attractions such as the Philadelphia Art Museum, Philadelphia Zoo (America’s 1st zoo!), Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, is a 30 minute drive from the hotel. JOHNSTOWN, PA-- Radiant joy was the order of the day as three young men, preparing for the Holy Priesthood, graduated from Christ the Saviour Seminary here on Thursday, May 22. His Grace, Bishop Gregory of Nyssa presented the Bachelor of Theology degree to the members of the Class of 2014: Deacon Joseph Birthisel, Daniel Vaskalis and Matthew Dutko. The graduation ceremonies followed the celebration of Vespers in the Seminary Chapel. Read more...

Dear Diocesan Parents and Children, This summer, our Diocese is pleased to offer a new event specifically for our young women. The First Annual Young Women’s Retreat will provide an opportunity for the young women of our Diocese to spend time in each other’s company, have fun, pray together, and learn about how God calls each woman to serve His church with her talents and abilities. This Retreat will take place concurrently with the Diocesan Altar Boy’s Retreat. In many ways, these separate experiences are meant to parallel each other, with each focusing on the experience, vocations, and unique gifts bestowed upon the young men and women of our Church.
