JOHNSTOWN, PA -- [Diocesan Chancery] The Diocesan Chancery has been informed that Reader Andrew Talarovich, Jr. of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Homestead, PA, reposed in the Lord suddenly on Saturday, June 27, 2015. Andrew, age 52, was the son of the late Andrew Sr. and Katherine (Rethi) Talarovich; brother of Michael Joseph (Rachel) Talarovich of Pittsburgh, PA and Kathryn (James) Brackin of Indiana, PA; uncle of Heather (Brent) Blose; great uncle of Aiden Hill; also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. Andrew was a former cantor at SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Homer City, and was the present cantor and choir director at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Homestead. Read more...

Matthew Baker, former Christ the Saviour seminarian and parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Manassas, Virginia, and Pastor of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Norwich, CT, was tragically killed in a car accident on March 1, 2015 during an evening snow storm, while on the way home from celebrating the Triumph of Orthodoxy Vespers.
