Monday, June 22, 2026
JOHNSTOWN, PA [Diocesan Chancery] -- The American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese of North America is inviting everyone to celebrate a historic milestone for our nation. This July, our Diocesan Churches and Faithful are being asked to offer prayers to mark the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The celebration will honor America's freedom as a country and highlight this historic milestone.
Our Churches and Faithful in the U.S. are being called upon by Metropolitan Gregory to offer a special Moleben as well as to participate in other meaningful ways of commemorating and celebrating this historic occasion in the coming weeks. As Orthodox Christians, we are deeply grateful for the freedom we enjoy in this nation. This 250th anniversary allows us to offer prayers of thanksgiving. We pray for our country, our leaders, and for continued peace and liberty for all people.
There is a special Protocol being sent to our Diocesan parishes with further instructions for the celebration.
