Christ the Saviour Seminary has instituted a new program aimed at aiding in the formation of future clergy and building relations between seminarians and diocesan parishes through parish outreach trips. On Sunday, September 27, 7 seminarians accompanied by CTSS Coordinator of Student Life, Reader Robert Ignatius Leonardo, participated in their first parish visit of the program to St. Peter and Paul's Orthodox Church in Windber, PA. Seminarians led the singing of the responses during the Liturgy. Afterwards, the parish hosted a coffee hour to welcome the seminarians to their community. Each seminarian gave a short introduction and discussed what inspired them to pursue service to Christ's Church within the American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese. Following the introductions the seminarians expressed their gratitude for the gracious hospitality of St. Peter and Paul's by presenting an icon to Pastor, Very. Rev. Protopresbyter Miles Zdinak and Parish President, Mr. Gary Heinrich.
The seminarians are grateful for the time they got to spend with the beautiful church community in Winder, PA and are looking forward to going on many more fruitful trips in the future.
While the Seminary is working on its schedule for these Outreach Trips, if your parish would like to host the Seminarians, please reach out to the Coordinator of Student Life at (908)-347-5923 or bobbyleonardo8@gmail.com.
