New Academic Year Begins at Christ the Saviour Seminary (9/14/26)

Our Diocese is pleased to announce the commencement of the new Academic Year for our Christ the Saviour Seminary! The 2026-2027 Academic Year began today with a beautiful Divine Liturgy presided by His Eminence Metropolitan Gregory. Con-celebrating Clergy included Fr. Frank Miloro (Christ the Saviour Dean), Fr. Miles Zdinak (Christ the Saviour Father Confessor), Fr. Michael Rustick (Seminary Prefect) and Fr. Stephen Loposky (Diocesan Chancellor).

The Seminary welcomes 10 total Seminarians, some returning, some new to the Seminary. The Seminarians are participating in a day-long Retreat at the beginning of the Academic Year as they always do. Fr. Miles is offering the talks during the Retreat.

One of the highlights of the day is certainly the new location and building of our Seminary! While the official dedication of the Seminary structure and Chapel, will not take place until the Spring of 2027, the Seminarians now have their feet in two places; the old Seminary structure where they live (the old Strayer Mansion) and the new Seminary building (the former Christ the Saviour Cathedral Education Center). It is a blessing to be in the new location!

As part of the day's events the new Seminarians had their cassocks blessed prior to the Divine Liturgy. Part of the prayer of blessing says this:
"...bless these Cassocks...which are a token of the innocence and humility which should be theirs (the Seminarians)...May these Cassocks also serve as a sermon to the people, reminding them that there is a God, that life is short, death certain, a judgment forthcoming, and that only through good works will they attain to everlasting life..." At the beginning of a new Academic Year, a message for the Seminarians and for all of us to take to heart.

Please keep the Seminary, its Administration, the Professors, the Seminarians and their families in your prayers! Glory to God for all things!
