JOHNSTOWN, PA -- On Wednesday, October 20, 2010  Christ the Saviour Cathedral was blessed with the visitation of the  Myrrhstreaming Hawaii Iveron Icon of the Mother of God which is presently travelling to Orthodox Parishes throughout the U.S.

The icon, upon its arrival  in Johnstown at 8:00 am, was met  by His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas in the Narthex of Cathedral Church, where it was led in procession to a special place of honor on the Tetrapod.  A Moleben to the Most Holy Mother of God was immediately served by Very Rev. Protopresbyter Frank Miloro, and assisted by the Rev. Deacon David Mastroberte.

Fr Frank, upon greeting the assembled faithful, remarked that with the  presence of the icon in the Cathedral, there was immediately a strong sense of holiness permeating.  "We are walking on Holy Ground, and even the air we are breathing has been transformed by the heavenly scent of the myrrh."

During and following the Moleben Service scores of faithful came forward to be annointed with the tears from the icon and  asking the intercession of the Mother of God for their individual needs.

Two hours later, the faithful took leave of the icon which continued its journey to other Churches, filled with great joy and peace, grateful to God that they were able to experience this holy wonder.
