Priest-Monk Rastislav (Gonta) Elected Bishop of Presov To Succeed Archbishop Jan

PRESOV, SlOVAKIA -- On October 20, 2012, the Diocesan Assembly of the Eparchy of Presov, Slovakia, meeting in St. Alexander Nevsky  Orthodox Cathedral in Presov, elected  Priest-Monk Rastislav (Gonta) as successor to the late Archbishop Jan who reposed in the Lord on August 2, 2012.

Hieromonk Rastislav, age 34, of Snina, Slovakia, presently serves as a chaplain at St. Nicholas Home For Children in Medzilaborce, Slovakia.

No date has been announced for his consecration to the Episcopacy.

May Almighty God Bless His Grace, Bishop-Elect Rastislav, with the Grace of the Holy Spirit, so that he may be a worthy shepherd to the faithful of the Eparchy of Presov.
