Archpastoral Visitation to Columbus, Ohio

His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas of Amissos, Primate of the American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese of the U.S.A. made his first Archpastoral visit on June 4 to the newly established Orthodox Mission Community of the Holy Cross, located at 2548 Billingsley Road in northwest Columbus.

Accompanied by the Diocesan Chancellor, the Very Rev. Protopresbyter Frank Miloro, Pani Constance Miloro and Youngstown Dean, the Very Rev. Protopresbyter Kenneth Bachofsky, His Eminence celebrated a Moleben to the Holy Cross, during which he officially installed Fr. Kevin Greenwood as the Mission Parish's first Administrator.

Established on March 7 of this year, Holy Cross Orthodox Mission was adorned with flowers in anticipation of Metropolitan Nicholas' first visit.
His Eminence is greeted at the door with the traditional gifts of bread and salt by parish treasurer Harold (Hal) Pukita.

Clergy in attendance for the evening celebration of a Moleben to the Holy Cross included Fr. Mark Lowery, Acting-Rector of Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church in Byesville, OH (OCA); Very Rev. Protopresbyter Kenneth Bachofsky, Dean of the Youngstown Deanery; Fr. Kevin Greenwood; Metropolitan Nicholas; Very Rev. Protopresbyter Frank Miloro, Chancelllor of the Diocese; Very Rev. Protopresbyter Paul Herbert, Former Pastor of St. Nicholas Church, Homestead, PA and a founding member of the new mission; and Fr. Terence Farmer, Pastor of St. John Chrysostom Byzantine Catholic Church in Columbus, OH (Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Parma).
