Follow Diocesan Retreats On-Line

JOHNSTOWN, PA - Diocesan Clergy, parents and faithful are invited to follow on-line the activities and events of the upcoming Diocesan Youth Retreats which will take place from Sunday June 29- Wednesday July 2, 2014 at Christ the Saviour Seminary and Cathedral and Sts Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Windber.

This year, in addition to the annual Altar Boy retreat at Christ the Saviour Cathedral and Seminary,  a Young Women's retreat will  take place at Sts Peter and Paul Church in Windber, PA.

The Diocesan Altarboy Retreat will be centered on the theme, focused on the theme  "Putting on the Armor of Faith."   In addition to participation in daily prayers, liturgical services, classes, and instruction in Plain Chant, the particpants will be hosted on Monday, June 30, by the Sts. Peter and Paul Parish of Windber, PA where they will enjoy swimming, sports and other recreational activities, and a barbeque.

The Young Women's retreat, which will take place at Sts Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Windber, will be an engaging experience that highlights the treasured ways young women can express themselves, serve the Church, and grow in their faith.  In addition to attending spiritual lectures, and other special events and excursions, they too will enjoy the recreational amenities at the near by Municipal Park.

On Tuesday the young women will join the altar boys at Divine Liturgy in the Diocesan Cathedral. After brunch and classes, the altarboys will board the buses for an excursion to Pittsburgh where they will attend a Pittsburgh Pirates game.

His Grace, Bishop Gregory will be in attendance at both retreats.

This year, you will again be able to watch the retreat liturgy live (Tuesday July 1 at 8:30 am)  by clicking here  and in archival format  by the next morning here.  We will also post photos as time permits on our diocesan website during the retreat.
