September 8, 2005
JOHNSTOWN, PA - The Sixth Annual St. Nectarios Society retreat will take place on The Weekend of November 4-6 in the New England Town of Lenox Massachussets at the Village Inn. The Retreat Master will be Subdeacon Frederick Watson of Holy Ghost Church in Phoenixville, PA.
The cost for the Retreat/Get-away weekend is $130.00 per person for double occupancy and $150.00 for single occupancy. The price will include a two night's stay at The Village Inn, a Saturday continental Breakfast; a Saturday Dinner and a Sunday Brunch. Checks should be made payable to Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, the host parish of the St. Nectarios Society Retreat.
There are twenty-five rooms available, each different and unique in their own way. Some rooms have king-size beds, others have queen or double; all have their own private bathroom, some have a working fireplace. Rooms are reserved on a first-come-first-serve basis. Reservations for rooms are now open and may be made directly by contacting Sally Hubiak at (203) 894-1157 or by e-mail at SHubiak@aol.com. Reservations must be made no later than Saturday, October 1. After this date, reservations cannot be guaranteed. .
The weekend will be equally divided between exploring the Orthodox Faith and relaxing. Saturday morning following the Continental Breakfast, morning prayers will be followed by Subdeacon Watson's presentation. This will leave the afternoon open for free time such as shopping or visiting nearby Stockbridge to see the Norman Rockwell Museum. There are plenty of things to do and visit in the area that will make this a special New England weekend.
Saturday evening a Moleben to St. Nectarios will be served, followed by confessions. Dinner will be at The Village Inn followed by free time. Following Sunday Morning's Divine Liturgy, the participants will have a hearty New England breakfast and then depart to their respective communities after breakfast.
The Retreat is open to all - Orthodox and non-Orthodox.
