Second Annual Diocesan Youth Pilgrimage

June 8, 2007

JOHNSTOWN, PA - The Second Annual All-Diocese Youth Pilgrimage will be held on August 17-19, 2007 (Friday evening through Sunday afternoon) at Camp Nazareth in Mercer, Pennsylvania. The Youth Pilgrimage will start a day before the Diocesan Summer Pilgrimage held in honor of the Transfiguration of Our Lord, Jesus Christ and in celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the First Diocesan Altarboy Retreat. It will conclude Sunday afternoon.

This Youth Pilgrimage is sponsored by the Diocesan Apostolate for Youth and is open to all Diocesan Youth ages 8-22. During the Pilgrimage, our youth will have the opportunity to more deeply explore their Orthodox Faith and develop strong spiritual bonds with Orthodox peers. They will do so by engaging in a pilgrimage to the site of a new cross shrine that they will create on the grounds of Camp Nazareth.

A special blessing for the youth will be the presence of a myrhh-streaming icon of St. Anne, the mother of the Theotokos, which will be available for veneration.

In addition to opportunities for participating in the liturgical services, group discussions, and other activities of a spiritual nature, the participants will also have ample time to enjoy the camp's swimming pool and recreational amenities.

The registration fee for the youth participants is $50.00 which covers the weekend's food and lodging. Registration deadline is August 3, 2007.
