His Grace Bishop Gregory attended the annual fundraiser event for St Mary of Egypt Refuge which was held at St John the Compassionate Mission this year for the first time (as the traditional venue - a local hostelry - has closed). Billed as a fun evening of good food, dancing and fun it lived up to its billing.

Apart from the new venue another first was the presence of not one but two bishops; the second being Metropolitan Elia of the Finnish Orthodox Church on a visit to Toronto. Bishop Gregory addressed the gathering and proved himself a good salesman for the silent auction and the mystery gifts! He also spoke warmly of his visit to the Refuge last year and its current gifts and future potential.

This was the last event in a very busy week for His Grace in Toronto who left the city for Ottawa to continue his pastoral visit to Canada.
