Jr. ACRY Mission Trip 2012 - Day 1
On Tuesday July 10, 2012, the 2012 Jr. ACRY Youth Mission Team arrived at St. John the Compassionate Mission in Toronto to assist with its extensive and commendable outreach ministry .
The youth arrived at dinner time after a long journey from as far a way as Connecticut and Pennsylvania, enduring numerous traffic delays at the border crossing and on the final stretch of the journey, where a section of the highway was closed until animal control officers could safely remove a flock of Canadian Geese!
While at the Mission, they will assist with the daily feeding and outreach program and perform some maintenance and painting projects.
Before leaving the mission they will present the proceeds of their Annual Lenten Youth Project, where ACRY Chapters and youth throughout the diocese raised approximately $2,400.00.
After taking a brief tour of the Mission and the Bakery, the youth were taken to the Lived Theology School, which provided over night accommodations during their stay.
