Seminary Hosts Religious Education Training Seminar
Christ the Saviour Seminary was honored to have Ms. Phyllis Meshel Onest, M.Div.,direct a two-day session on religious education as part of the Pastoral Field Education course. Ms. Onest is the Director of the Office of Religious Education for the Greek Archdiocese Metropolis of Pittsburgh and has over thirty years experience in religious
instruction and graciously agreed to give this class to seminarians and diocesan faithful at Christ the Saviour Seminary on March 22nd and 23rd of this year.
Those in attendance were provided with a challenging and engaging immersion into educating our youth in the Faith. Students were familiarized with materials from both the Greek Archdiocese and the Orthodox Christian Education Commission. They received instruction in class preparation and planning, and accommodating the needs of children of all ages and abilities.
Upon completion, students received a certificate of completion of the teacher training program.
