Very Rev. Fr. E. Michael Macura Celebrates 25th Anniversary of Priestly Ordination

On Sunday November 11, 2007, Very Rev. Fr. Michael Macura celebrated his Silver Jubilee of Ordination to the Holy Priesthood. A vocation of our diocesan St. John the Baptist Parish of Bridgeport, CT, Fr. Michael was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on November 14, 1982 and served as a military Chaplain for the U.S. Armed Forces until his retirement in 2003. Upon his retirement from active military duty, he was assigned Pastor of St. John The Baptist Parish in Stratford, CT (Silver Lane). The faithful of St. John's Church along with his family honored him with a celebratory banquet at the Mill River Country Club following the Jubilee Liturgy celebrated by Fr. Michael and presided over by His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas. The photos posted below show scenes from the Jubilee Liturgy and banquet.
The parish children sang a song written in honor of Fr. Michael.
"And all you Orthodox Christians, may the Lord God remember you in His Kingdom, always now and ever and unto ages of ages!"
HIs Eminence offered his congratulations to Fr. Michael during the banquet program.

Fr. Michael offered words of gratitude to God for the gift of his priesthood and shared his insights on this twenty-five years of ministry in the military chaplaincy and parish life. He expressed his gratitude to his family and parish for their kindness in making the Jubilee celebration possible.
"The Most Precious Blood of Our Lord, God and Savior Jesus Christ is imparted upon the Priest Michael, for the remission of sins and for Life Eternal."
His Eminence delivered the homily which reflected on the Holy Priesthood.

Cantor Chris Gombos lead the children in the singing of the Creed.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the Metropolitan presented the children with a small gift.
