Diocesan Altarboy Retreat 2008 - Mon. June 30, 2008

Following breakfast, Fr. Peter Zarynow gave a talk about St. Paul's imprisonment at the Seminary Cross Shrine.
Prior to breakfast, Fr. David reviewed the day's schedule with the retreat participants and staff.
The boys boarded the bus for Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Windber, PA.

The pool at the nearby Windber Municipal Park is always a favorite spot of the altarboys.
The second event was the marshmallow relay.
The shoe relay was a popular event.
The altarboys are pictured being broken down into six teams to participate in the second annual Altarboy Olympics.
The first event was the softball toss.
Following Fr. Peter's talk, chant class was held to rehearse the plain chant responses to Tuesday's Divine Liturgy and Moleben to St. Nectarios.
After supper the boys spent time in 4 different breakout groups discussing key passages from St. Paul's Epistles.
Fr. Andrew Fetchina gave a very well-received talk about the casting out of the demons in the slave girl by St. Paul. In his talk he spoke about the importance of making a good confession, so that we can receive freedom from sin and have the strength, through Christ to accept our calling in life to serve God in whatever capacity He desires.
