20th Diocesan Sobor - Gallery 1 Of 4
The 20th Diocesan Sobor of the American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese of the U.S.A. took place from July 9-12, 2006 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Old Greenwich, CT. Hosted by the parishes of the New England Deanery, the clergy and faithful of the Diocese enjoyed three days of prayer, deliberations and fellowship. Orestes and Kathy Mihaly, who staffed the Carpatho-Rusyn Society Information Table welcomed John and Sheila Hrapchak of Potomac Maryland as they arrived at the Sobor.
Clergy and faithful alike enjoyed the fellowship reception which was held on Sunday Evening.
The clergy and delegates were welcomed to the Sobor by the members of the welcoming and registration committee from St. John's Parish in Bridgeport, CT.
His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas, assisted by the members of the Diocesan Consistory, celebrated on Monday morning the first Liturgy of the Sobor.
Very Rev. Protopresbyter Stephen Dutko, Pastor Emeritus of St. Michael's Church in Binghamton, NY. His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas announced that the Year 2007 would be dedicated to the exemplary priestly service of Fr. Stephen who will be celebrating his 90th birthday and 65th Anniversary of the Holy Priesthood.

Those in attendance were able to purchase religious items and vestments from numerous vendors including our diocesan Christ the Saviour Seminary Bookstore.
