2006 Diocesan Altarboy Retreat

The annual Altarboys Retreat took place at Christ the Saviour Seminary and Cathedral in Johnstown, PA from June 25-28, 2006. This year there 73 participants from parishes as far away as Connecticut and West Virgina. The retreat participants were given an opportunity to learn more about the priestly vocation as the program was based on the theme, "Serving the Lord as His Priest." The posted photos show scenes from the well-balanced program of prayer, instruction and fellowship. This year's retreatmaster was the Very Rev. David Cochran, Pastor of St. John the Baptist Church in Bridgeport, CT. He was assisted by The Very Protopresbyter John Fedornock, the Very Rev. Fathers Luke Mihaly, Peter Paproski and Michael Zak, the Rev. Fathers Michael Chendorain, Andrew Fetchina, Stephen Loposky, Matthew Moriak and Mark Tyson.
In preparation for Tuesday Morning's Divine Liturgy, the altarboys were instructed by Very Rev. Fr. Peter Paproski in the Plain Chant liturgy responses.
Fr. Stephen Loposky leads a small group discussion about the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Fr. Stephen also shared his insights about what it is like to serve as a priest of the Holy Church.
