His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas, accompanied by Fr. Deacon Michael Ellis, made a canonical visitation to the Canadian Deanery, of which the Very Rev. Fr. Maxym Lysack is dean. Their journey began with the visitation of St. John the Compassionate Mission in Toronto, Ontario. Very Rev. Fr. Roberto Ubertino, the founder and adminstrator of the mission to the homeless and hungry of Toronto, also is the pastor of St. Silouan the Athonite Mission Parish. His Eminence also called upon Orthodox Hierarchs including Metropolitan Soterios of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Canada and Archbishop Yuri of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada and on the weekend of June 26-27, His Eminence visited the Christ the Saviour Parish in Ottawa.
The following pictures represent highlights of His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas' visit to Toronto, & Ottawa. Included are pictures of the consecration of the Altar and the tonsure as Reader of Ephraim Pfeil at St. Silouan the Athonite Mission, St. John the Compassionate Mission, St Monastere Vierge Marie la Consolatrice (Monastery of Panagia the Comforter) Orthodox Monastery in Brownsburg, Quebec, Canada and the Hierarchical Liturgy Sunday June 27, 2004 at Christ the Saviour Church with Stoyan Tanev tonsured reader, sub-deacon Michael Laliberte ordained to the diaconate and Rev. Fathers Maxym Lysack and Roberto Ubertino receiving the title of "Very Reverend" and the right to wear the gold cross.
