The Witness Stand

Have you had to take a stand for your faith? Perhaps you have been made fun of by your friends for going to Church or Camp Nazareth? Or maybe in school,  you have felt uncomfortable making the sign of the cross before eating?  In these moments, undoubtedly you felt uncomfortable and alone.   You are not alone, for throughout the centuries, those who have truly loved Christ have endured similar ridicule and persecution and even martyrdom.

The word martyr, comes from greek word martyria which means witness.  All serious Orthodox Christians will at some point or another in their life will be called on to witness to their faith.

Knowing how difficult this is, we are offering you here on these pages an opportunity to share the struggles you have faced witnessing the faith. Therefore, we invite you to weigh in on your real life experiences in a blog forum called: Learn how you can take part in the blog discussion group. The Witness Stand.

You will have the opportunity to post comments on a short article or reflection written by or about one of your peers. You may also submit other topics and reflections for comment.
