OCMC 2006 Mission Trip To Bukoba Tanzania.

With the Blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas, Fr. Michael Miklos led an OCMC Mission Team to Bukoba Tanzania. The Team Consisted of Sem. Daniel Hoarste @ Holy Cross Seminary, Sem. DeJan Gality of Hungary, @ St. Tikon's Seminary, and Andrew Lentz @ St. Vladimir's Seminary, Mr. Alan Sanger, Alberta Canada, University Professor, Anastasios Shipman, Memphis TN, University Professor, Diane Anastos Legal Aide Secretary and Andrew Honore California, college student. The purpose of this Mission was to provide instruction in Liturgical and Lifestyle issues suitable for Young Faithful of the Tanzanian Orthodox Church. They would then return and teach in their respective villages. Also to provide Orthodox witness by visiting and communing with the Faithful in both Tanzania and Uganda. The Team arrived at St. Augustine on Sunday July 16 for their orientation. and departed Jacksonville Airport on July 19th where they met Fr. Michael in Detroit and then traveled to Tanzania. After Orientation in Bukoba, instructions began Monday, July 24th through Saturday July 29th The team was housed at Kasiziki Center and Orthodox Complex where two Seminarians were being trained, and traveled each day approximately 10 km to the village of Rubale the site of the instructions. During the trip they were privilege to attend many Divine Liturgies including two Hierarchical Divine Liturgies celebrated by His Grace Bishop Jeronymos of Bukoba, the presiding Bishop of Tanzania, they also visited His Eminence Metropolitan Jonah of Kampala, Uganda. They are under the Omophor of the Patriarch of Alexandria. These two Bishops are the only native Bishops of Africa.
