(Johnstown, PA - February 27, 2008) The Diocesan Chancery is pleased to announce that plans have been finalized for diocesan-wide lenten retreats to be held in the eastern, western and central regions of the diocese. These lenten retreats will be held in three regions of the diocese for the benefit of all diocesan faithful. Sponsored by the National ACRY, they are open to all who wish to attend. It is the desire of His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas, that representatives from every diocesan parish be in attendance at the retreat which is held in their respective region.

The Central Region Retreat will take place on Saturday March 29, 2008 from 9:30 am - 5:00 pm at Camp Nazareth, in Mercer, PA. Very Rev. Edward Pehanich, the presenter for the adult segment, will speak on the topic Finding Solace in Suffering and Pain

Very Rev. Robert Prepelka will be the retreat master for youth ages 6-12 and teens on the theme Worshiping God in Body and Spirit

The cost (which includes lunch and supper) is $20.00 per person (Ages 18 - up); $10.00 (Ages 9-17) and a Free Will Offering  (Ages 8 and under).

The Western Region Retreat will take place on Saturday April 12, 2008 at  St. Alexis Toth  Church, Lafayette, Indiana at 2:00 pm. (CST)

Very Rev. Sam Sherry will speak on the topic, Climbing the Ladder of Divine Ascent.

The Eastern Region Retreat will take place on Saturday April 12, 2008 from 9:30 am - 5:00 pm at the National Christian Conference Center in Valley Forge, PA.   Rev. Fr. Stephen Loposky, the presenter for the adult segment, will speak on the topic How Church Music Helps us Through the Lenten Season

The youth present will explore the topic, Great Lent – A Journey to the Kingdom Fr. Andrew Fetchina will lead an interactive discussion with the Teens (Ages 12-18) and Very Rev. Miles Zdinak, for those ages 11 and under.
